Finn Sheep

Finn wool
Child’s jumper made from Finn wool.

The wool produced by Finn sheep (also known as Finnsheep or Finnish Landrace sheep) should be a lot more popular than it is. It is soft and can be worn directly on the skin, the staple is long with only a little bit of crimp. One good fleece yields at least two large sized jumpers. The wool spins very evenly and the knitted end product is a pleasure to wear – even for children.

Finn sheep produce valuable wool that is versatile, takes dye very well, and can be made into soft and warm garments for the whole family.
